Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Just like its predecessor the fourth film in the series takes the Harry Potter fans into a darker and more sinister world compared to the film’s that came before it; betrayal, deception and murder are generally key themes on this movie. Each side new characters including Alistair Moody allow for excellent - albeit brief in some cases - performances from Brendan Gleeson, Miranda Richardson and David Tennant, whilst the performances on the child actors continue to improve.

However, in an effort to fit the movie into a satisfactory runtime, large chunks of the plot were dropped or altered, making the film’s beginning seem somewhat rushed and indefinable, whilst the long middle part of film is dedicated almost entirely to Harry as well as trials he faces throughout the tri-wizard cup; which you find in the film seem a bit one sided and the absence of genuine sub-plot is quite noticeable. Thankfully certain aspects of the initial narrative are kept intact which means the romantic development between Ron and Hermione remain and therefore are the key portion of the lighter side with the movie, without which the film can be too dense and relentless.

ending is really as dark and epic the way it must be for the fact that the tale all together, yet Ralph Fiennes first extended appearance as Voldemort steals the show entirely, when he plays a horrifying and dangerous creature that kills without mercy. Although, generally, the Harry Potter films improve with every release The Goblet of Fire is very impressive and instead gives off you hungry for one more film in line.
